Project Background
It was identified concrete spalling and weakening of the cementitious matrix due to chloride, sulphate and CO2 attack.
To reinstate structural safety, it was decided to remove in full 300x100mm depth of concrete annulus and use SikaMonoTop-612, high build concrete repair mortar. To increase serviceability and decrease maintenance, all concrete walls were coated with SikaGard 705L.
Project Requirments
- Protection of steel rebars
- 100mm thickness
- Thixotropic consistency
- Hydrophobic impregnation
Sika Solution
- Bonding primer and reinforcement corrosion protection: SikaMonoTop-910
- Polymer modified high strength, high build concrete repair mortar: SikaMonoTop-612
