Learning how to replace a clothesline is a job that many DIY enthusiasts haven’t tackled before but is an easy skill to learn. Often in Australian homes, the clothesline is either an eyesore, or takes up prime real estate.

Replacing an old clothesline with a streamlined version that can be positioned out of sight, or folded down when not in use, is an easy and cost-efficient solution to make the most of precious outdoor space.

Chemical adhesives: the perfect solution
As the clothesline is such a workhorse in every family, it needs to be able to withstand the weight of everything from shirts and socks to wet blankets. Heavy items increase the pressure on the clothesline, which makes it essential to fasten it securely to the wall. Of course, doing this without ruining the rendered wall is also important.

DIY enthusiasts are discovering how quick and easy it is to use adhesives for jobs like installing a new clothesline. Chemical adhesives bond securely without intrusive processes, and effectively bond to a range of smooth or textured surfaces.

Chemical adhesives are also moisture resistant, which ensures that moisture from damp clothes doesn't compromise the bond.

The easy solution to secure structures quickly without causing damage to walls? Sika AnchorFix®-1.  Perfect for any non-structural steel jobs inside, around and outside the home, it is easy to use and cures in just 50 minutes.  Sika AnchorFix®-1 needs no mixing and can be dispended in a standard chemical dispenser.

  • Insert the plastic sleeves into the cavity.
  • Remove the nozzle from the applicator of Sika AnchorFix®-1 and squeeze gently until the mixture turns grey.
