Usage

Sika Boom® G is designed for fixing, insulating and filling cavities, voids and connection joints around window and door frames, air-conditioning vents, roller blind housings, pipe and conduit penetrations for internal and external use.
Sika Boom® G provides insulation against temperature, noise, wind draughts and vermin after application.

Shelf life

Sika Boom® G has a shelf life of 12 months from the date of production, if stored properly in undamaged, original, sealed packaging, and if the storage conditions are met. Opened cans of Sika Boom® G must be used within 4 weeks.

Storage conditions

Sika Boom® G shall be stored in an upright position, in dry conditions, protected from direct sunlight and at temperatures between +15 °C and +25 °C.

Consumption can be regulated by adjusting the pressure on the trigger or by tightening or loosening the screw of the application gun.
Application steps

APPLICATION INSTRUCTIONS

SUBSTRATE PREPARATION

The substrate must be clean, sound and homogeneous, free from oils, grease, dust and loose or friable particles. Paint, cement laitance and other poorly adhering contaminants must be removed. Sika Boom® G adheres without primers and/or activators.Predampen the substrate with a mist spray of clean water to ensure the foam cures properly and prevent secondary foam expansion.

APPLICATION

Shake the Sika Boom® G can well for a minimum 20 seconds before use, repeat shaking after long interruptions of use. Screw Sika Boom® G onto the valve of the application gun. The amount of expanding foam extruded can be regulated by applying more or less pressure on the trigger or by tightening or loosening the screw of the application gun. Fill deep joints in several layers, allow each layer to cure and expand sufficiently by mist spraying clean water between each layer and allowing sufficient waiting time between layers. Do not fill hollow sections completely as the foam expands during cure. Where small gaps have to be filled use an extension tube. All building elements must be temporarily fixed until the foam has fully cured. Do not remove the Sika Boom® G can off the application gun. Removing the can without thorough cleaning with Sika Boom® Cleaner will damage the application gun. Fully cured foam can be cut to shape and painted.

CLEANING OF EQUIPMENT

Clean all tools and application equipment immediately with Sika Boom® Cleaner or Acetone. Once cured, residual material can only be removed mechanically.
