SUBSTRATE PREPARATION
Surfaces should be clean, dry and free of contaminants such as oil, grease and curing membranes .
Substrate should be prepared to achieve a profile of CSP2 and should achieve a cohesive bond pull off test value of >1.5mpa.
All unsound layers and any previous coatings are to be removed.
Any imperfections in the substrate profile that will be visible in the finished product are to be filled using Sikafloor 160 mortar, scrape fill layer or Sikadur 33 depending on the depth of imperfections.
Refer to Sikafloor 160/161 TDS for detailed information.
MIXING
Refer to individual Sikafloor 160/161/264/169 TDS
APPLICATION
Application of system layers - Refer to individual TDS for Sikafloor 160/161/264/169.
Application of vinyl flakes can be graded as sparce, partial and full brodcast.
The choice of these depends on how much of the base layer colour is desired to be visible in between the vinyl flakes.
During the removal of excess flakes post broadcast, it is recommended that the remaining adhered flake surface be lightly sanded or scraped to remove any high peaks.
This ensures a more even finish post application of the final coats of Sikafloor 169
