Sika® Masonry AU 1

Shelf life, when stored in dry warehouse conditions between 5°C and 35°C, is six (6) months.

Sika® Masonry AU 1 should be stored at temperature above 5°C and regularly recirculated , twice a day or as per our Technical Service instructions.

If frozen, admixture cannot be re-constituted and must be discarded according to local laws.

Sika® Masonry AU 1 should be added with the batching water or introduced at the end of the mixing process.

For concrete containing a low water content and applications that have a very low water cement ratio, it is necessary to provide sufficient mixing time to allow the admixture to be distributed throughout the entire batch and provide uniform performance.

In general, a total mixing time of at least 90 seconds is essential. Mixing time after adding the admixture depends on the individual circumstances and should be determined by trials.

Do not introduce Sika® Masonry AU 1 up front, or directly onto dry cementitious materials, as this may reduce admixture performance.

Dosage rate will vary according to targeted application. Normally a dosage range of 200 - 500 ml / 100 kg of cementitious material should be sufficient for efflorescence and absorption control. If water repellency is required dosage may be increased to 750 ml - 2000 ml /100 kg of cementitious material . Actual dosage rate will vary based upon mix design. Proper dosage should always be verified by trial batch to ensure desired performance is achieved.

Dosages outside the recommended range may be used for special requirements and applications.
