Sika® Air - LS

AEA - Air Entraining Agent

Sika® Air-LS is an air-entraining agent based on synthetic surfactants. It is a diluted version of Sika® Air and therefore performs and fulfils the same function as  Sika® Air but at higher dose rates, to enable more accurate dosing. Its efficiency is based upon the entrainment into the mix of a high number of correctly sized and evenly distributed air bubbles.

Usage

Sika® Air LS is used to:
  • Improve resistance to freeze-thaw cycles in hardened concrete;
  • Increase cohesion, reducing the concrete tendency to bleed and segregate;
  • Improve compaction of low workability mixes including semi-dry concrete.

Sika ® Air-LS is added directly to the mixing water

Compatibility

Sika® Air - LS is compatible with all the water reducer (WR), mid range water reducer (MWR), high range water reducer (HWR), set accelerator and set retarder manufactered by Sika Australia PTY LTD.
Consumption

Recommended dosage

Typical dosage rates for general concrete production range from 250-750 mls per cubic metre of concrete. For low slump concrete (<65 mm slump) and pavement type concrete, particularly concrete that contains high volume of fly ash, substantially higher dose rate of Sika Air LS may be required to achieve the desired air content. Typical dose rates for high volume fly ash or low slump concrete range from 500-3000 ml per cubic metre of concrete.
