Mix Enhancing Admixture

Sika® Mix is a concrete admixture for general use to enhance unfavourable concrete mixes. Sika® Mix improves workability even with poor aggregates, and sand gradings.

Improves the cohesiveness, workability and lubrication of the fresh concrete.
  • Reduces concrete bleed.
  • Improves pump output and workability of unfavourable concrete mixes.
  • Used in shotcrete mixes to improve sticking or as silica fume replacement.
  • Smoother finishes resulting from better extrusion of concrete.

Usage

Sika® Mix is especially useful for concrete mixes with fluctuating fines, low cement content or unfavourable granulometric curves with bad water retention abilities. Even secondary raw materials like crushed rock and manufactured sands are more easily used with Sika® Mix.

Sika® Mix meets all the requirements of AS1478.1-2000 as special Admixture neutral set, Type (SN).

Water based polymer dispersion

Shelf life

Stored at temperatures between 5°C and 35°C in unopened original containers protected from direct sunlight and from frost, shelf life is at least six (6) months.

Storage conditions

Store at temperature between 5° and 35°C, protected from the direct sunlight.

Application

Application Information

Dispensing

Sika® Mix can be added either to the initial mixing water or to the slump water. Never add to a dry mix. 

The optimum effect is reached after a wet mixing time of 60 seconds/m3 .

Compatibility

Sika® Mix can be used in conjunction with all the Sika® Concrete and Sigunit®  admixtures.
Consumption

Recommended dosage

To recommend addition rates:

  • Poorly graded aggregates and harsh materials.

        300-1000 ml/m3

  •  Improve pumping characteristics and lower pump pressures

        1000-2000 ml/m3

  • As silica fume replacement (only for rheology)

        2000-5000 ml/m3
