SikaRapid®-22 AU

Setting and hardening accelerator for concrete mortar and grout

SikaRapid®-22 AU  is a non chloride set and hardening accelerator for concrete, mortar and grout.

  • Faster setting time even at low temperatures

Usage

SikaRapid®-22 AU is recommended for use in premix and precast concrete where fast setting and hardening time is required.
As a result, SikaRapid®-22 AU allows:
▪ faster finishing of concrete surfaces
▪ improved early strength of premixed concrete
▪ faster slip-form production
▪ used in ready mix concrete in cold climates

SikaRapid®-22 AU meets and exceeds all requirements of Australian Standard 1478.1-2000 for Accelerator (Ac).

Shelf life

Stored at temperatures between 5° C and 35° C in unopened original containers protected from direct sunlight and from frost, shelf life is 12 months.

Application

Application Information

Dispensing

SikaRapid®-22 AU is added to batching water or is poured into the concrete mix at the same time as the gauging water. SikaRapid®-22 AU may
also be added into the agitator truck on site. In this case, the concrete should then be mixed for an extra 1 minute for every cubic
metre of concrete. The concrete should then be checked visually for uniform consistency before discharging.

Do not add SikaRapid®-22 AU to dry mix.

Compatibility

SikaRapid®-22 AU can be used in conjunction with any non-retarded Sika Concrete admixtures.

It is beneficial to add SikaRapid®-22 AU with the initial mixing. Tests must be carried out to determine the optimum batching sequence.
Do not use SikaRapid®-22 AU in conjunction with shrinkage compensating admixtures (i.e expanding agents).
Consumption

Recommended dosage

Typical dosage range is 500ml - 2000ml/100 kg of total cementitious material. Exact dosage rate should be determined by site trials.
