Kerry Ingredients Food Grade Flooring

Kerry Ingredients is a global Food Manufacturer who also operate in a number of key sites in Australia and across the globe. Recently they upgaded a 1500m² section of the plant in Murrarie in Queensland.

Kerry has enjoyed phenomenal success since commencing  op-erations in 1972. Our history traces the evolution and growth of Kerry Group – from its modest beginnings in the south west of Ireland into a leading player in the global food indus-try. Commencing from a green field site in Listowel, Co. Kerry, Ireland over 40 years ago, Kerry Group has realised sustained profitable growth with current annualised sales of  approximately $9.8billion.

The Project Engineer had a focus on the importance of the protective flooring. The area is designated a wet production with hot water washdown, food chemical exposure and cycles of traffic

Project Requirements

The requirement was for a tough, heat and wear resistant floor that was also demonstrated to be very low VOC and HACCP approved for Food environments. It also had to be fast to install within a tight itme frame for the build.

Sikafloor®-22 PurCem® was selected. Equally important was the requirement for an Expert Flooring Installer/ Contractor. The Contractor had to demonstrate a proven history of successful Food/Beverage installations as well as sound  Quality Processes.

Sika Solution

Apex Epoxy Flooring Pty. Ltd. was selected as the successful tenderer after careful consideration by the Head Contractor and Client. Apex is a recomeded Sika Floor PurCem Installer. Director, Nathan Young commented that Apex understand the importance of delivering a sound high quality result for Food Manufacturing facilities.

Kerry were expecting a close working relationship betwen the Contractor and supplier to ensure an efficient, timely install whilst maintaining a high level of finishing.

The result is another sucessful floor delivered by Apex and Sika for the Food industry that will provide a strong reliable   platfrom for Kerry for the long term.
