Sika® Eco Systems Eco Screed

A PREBLENDED CEMENT based SCREED FOR UNDER TILE APPLICATIONS

Sika® Eco Systems Eco Screed is a preblended cement based economical screed consisting of selected graded aggregates, portland cement and selected additives.

Usage

Sika® Eco Systems Eco Screed can be used as a bonded screed from 15mm - 100mm in a single application. Sika® Eco Systems Eco Screed can be used unbonded from 40mm - 100mm unbonded in a single application. Sika® Eco Systems Eco Screed can be used internally & externally.

12 Months from date of manufacture.

Storage conditions

Store off ground in dry cool conditions (high humidity will reduce shelf life).

Mixing ratio

1.8 - 2.1 Litres of clean water per 20kg bag.

Layer thickness

Bonded: Minimum 15mm - 100mm thickness

Unbonded: 40mm - 100mm thickness

Pot Life

Approximately 2 hours at 23°C & 50% RH
Consumption

Consumption

1 Bag of product mixed with 2Litres of water with cover approximately 1m2 at 10mm thickness.
Application steps

EQUIPMENT

Mixing can be undertaken with slow speed mixing drill & pail, cement mixer or forced drum mixer.

For best results use forced drum mixer or cement mixer.

MIXING

Slowly add the powder to the clean cool water and mix to a semi-dry consistancy for 2-3 minutes. Once the Sika® Eco Systems Eco Screed is mixed product shall be used wiothout wait time.

APPLICATION

Bonded Screed Application: 15mm - 100mm

Priming: Eco Prime WB

Prior to placement of the Sika® Eco Systems Eco Screed apply a bond coat.

Bond Coat: Lankolatex 751 mixed 1:1 with Portland Cement. 

Apply the mixed bond coat to the clean susbstrate with a trowel, or broom to a depth of 2mm - 2.5mm. While the bond coat is still wet and tacky apply the Sika® Eco Systems Eco Screed and compact, and screed to falls as required. Should the bond coat skin prior to placement of screed, remove and replace.

A bond coat shall be applied to the edges of screed that have dried from previous applications.

Bonded Screeds above 50mm should incorporate Galvanized wire reinforcement in accordance to AS 3958.1.

Unbonded Screed Application: 40mm - 100mm

Prior to placement of the Sika® Eco Systems Eco Screed install a double layer of polyethane sheet, lapped and taped to the substrate. Place the Sika® Eco Systems Eco Screed onto the polyethane sheet and install galvanised wire as per AS 3958.1 to approximately half the total depth of the screed and apply additonal Sika® Eco Systems Eco Screed to cover. Compact, and screed to falls as required.

 

CLEANING OF EQUIPMENT

Tools and equipment can be cleaned with water while the screed is still wet.
