SikaSeal® Acrylic 100 - Premium Acrylic Joint & Gap Sealant

SikaSeal® Acrylic is a flexible, one component, water based acrylic joint sealant and gap filler where low demand of elongation are required, for interior use.

Thick, non-sag mastic

Shelf life

18 months when stored according to the storage conditions.

Storage conditions

The product must be stored in undamaged and unopened, original sealed containers, in cool and dry conditions and protected from direct sunlight at temperatures between +5ºC and +30ºC. SikaSeal® Acrylic must be protected from frost.

Application steps

SUBSTRATE PREPARATION

The substrate must be sound, clean, dry and free of all contaminants such as dirt, rust, oil, grease, cement laitance, old sealants and poorly bonded paint coatings which could affect adhesion of SikaSeal® Acrylic. The substrate should be of sufficient strength to manage with the stresses induced by the sealant during movement. Removal techniques such as wire brushing, grinding, sanding or other suitable mechanical tools can be used. All dust, loose and friable material must be completely removed from all surfaces before application of SikaSeal® Acrylic.

Priming
SikaSeal® Acrylic can be used as a primer as preperation for porous substrates such as; stone, concrete, and plasterwork. The mixing ratio is 1 part SikaSeal® Acrylic to 3 parts water, the primer solution should be completely dry before applying SikaSeal® Acrylic.

CLEANING OF EQUIPMENT

Uncured sealant can be cleaned from tools etc. with water. Cured sealant can only be removed mechanically.
