SCHÖNOX® AB

A FLEXIBLE UNDER TILE SHEET WATERPROOFING MEMBRANE WITH DECOUPLING / CRACK ISOLATION PROPERTIES

A flexible, class III, crack-bridging, isolating and waterproofing sheet membrane. Made from highly tear resistant Polyethylene, double sided fleece lamination for rapid installation of waterproofing and tiling. SCHÖNOX® AB can be used in normal and high loaded commercial wet areas, steam rooms and swimming pools. SCHÖNOX® AB is suitable for heated floors and has excellent crack bridging properties.

Application steps

APPLICATION INSTRUCTIONS

All Substrates shall be installed as per manufacturers instructions, fit for purpose and designed to handle the loads of a Tile or Stone system.

• Substrate Deflection: All Substrates under loads must not exceed L/360 for tile and L/720 for Stone.

• Substrates must be properly cured, structurally sound, free from loose or friable particles, clean, dry and free from contaminates such as dust, dirt, oil, grease, curing compounds, crystalline sealers, laitance, or efflorescence.

• Dependant on the substrate condition and contamination to be removed from the surface, perform adequate scarification, or blast cleaning in order to remove all traces of any materials that could reduce the product adhesion to the substrate.

SUBSTRATE QUALITY

Concrete Floors and cement based screeds:

Concrete and cement based shall where possible should be adequately cured.

Substrates shall have a maximum moisture content of 3% or 75% Relative humidity.

For heated substrates maximum moisture content shall be 2% or 75% Ralative humidity.

For substrate with moisture contents outside these recomendation please contect Sika technical advice.

Sheeted substrates: All boards / Underlays must be installed as per manufacturer's instructions and specifically designed for tiling.

Structural Plywood and Particle Board: Boards shall be clean and dry and rigid enough to accommodate the incumbent tiling system. Waxes, or coating must be removed be prior to application.

Priming: On porous substrate priming is considered optional.

On highly porous cement boards, priming may be undertaken with SikaTile 010 Secure Prime, Eco Prime WB or Davco Ultraprime to increase open time of the Schonox IFix adhesive.
