ACRYLIC BASED MULTIPURPOSE PRIMER FOR POROUS SUBSTRATES

LANKO 124 Ultraprime is a technologically advanced acrylic based multipurpose primer, for use prior to the application of Davco - Lanko mortar systems onto porous substrates. LANKO 124 Ultraprime increases the bond strength of cementitious mortar systems, such as Lanko floor levellers and Lanko patching and repair products.

Usage

  • Internal and external wall and floor applications.
  • LANKO 124 Ultraprime can be applied over timber, concrete and most common porous building substrates prior to the application of Davco-Lanko floor levellers and patching and repair mortars systems.
  • LANKO 124 Ultraprime reduces the porosity of substrates by providing a consistent surface to regulate the drying of Davco Lanko mortar systems. The application of LANKO 124 Ultraprime prior to applying Davco Lanko floor levellers reduces pin-holing. LANKO 124 Ultraprime increases the adhesion of Lanko mortar systems.

Applied Product Ready for Use

LANKO 124 Ultraprime dries in appriximately 30 minutes. Climate and site conditions can impact drying time.

LANKO 124 Ultraprime is a milky white colour and dries clear.

Once the primer is clear flooring applications can commence.

Surface texture and site conditions van impact the coverage of any particular installation.
Application steps

EQUIPMENT

  • Personal protective equipment.
  • Large 20 Litre mixing buckets.
  • Flooring trowel, long handled floor spreader, or gauged rake.
  • Mixing drill with stirrer attachment.

MIXING

  • LANKO 124 Ultraprime is supplied ready for use. Do not dilute this product.
  • Shake the jerry can or pail prior to application.

APPLICATION

  1. Only porous concrete surfaces should be primed with LANKO 124 Ultraprime. Use LANKO 124 Ultraprime directly from the container – do not dilute.
  2. Under hot, windy conditions (Temp above 30ºC), it is essential to wet down any concrete slabs with clean water prior to priming, so that the primer does not flash dry. Whilst wetting down the floor, do not allow the water to pool or pond on the surface. The substrate should appear matt, with no signs of glistening water just prior to application of the primer.
  3. Extremely porous concrete slabs should be wet down with water, as per instructions for hot, windy conditions, to prevent flash drying of the primer.
  4. Measure the required amount of primer for the area to be covered. Apply the measured quantity of LANKO 124 Ultraprime to the substrate evenly using a broom, brush, roller or squeegee. This will ensure that the correct coverage is achieved. Allow the primer to dry.
  5. Once LANKO 124 Ultraprime is applied, it is recommended that the substrate be subsequently coated within 24 hours. Otherwise you risk the chance of recontaminating the surface with site dirt and dust. If the area is left uncovered for more than 6 hours, then it must be wiped down with clean water to remove site dirt and dust before overcoating.
  6. Do not prime an area that cannot be overcoated within 24 hours. If a substrate has been coated with LANKO 124 Ultraprime and has been left for over 24 hours, it must be wiped down with clean water to remove any site dirt and dust, and re-primed before overcoating.

CLEANING OF TOOLS

Tools and equipment can be cleaned with water prior to the primer drying.
