Sikament®-156 WRRe

Water Reducing Set Retarding Admixture - WRRe

Sikament®-156 WRRe is a water reducing set retarder specifically formulated to produce concrete with improved water reduction and extended slump life while retarding the setting time of the mix.  Sikament 156 WRRe combines the benefits of a normal water reducer allowing for the ease of obtaining and controlling concretes with 80-100 mm slumps.

The use of Sikament®-156 WRRe in concrete improves the following properties
  • Higher water reduction achieved, results in high density, and less permeable concrete.
  • A combination water reducer retarder – excellent for hot conditions
  • Increase bleed characteristics which allows for an easy finishing
  • Economical due to cement reduction

Usage

 Sikament®-156 WRRe is suitable to produce low to medium performance concrete, with water reduction, and increased bleed water characteristics.

Sikament®-156 WRRe meets and exceeds all requirements of Australian Standard AS1478.1-2000 for a Water Reducing Set Retarding Admixture (WRRe).

Aqueous solution of modified polycarboxylates and carbohydrates

Shelf life

Stored at temperatures between 5°C and 35°C in unopened original containers, protected from direct sunlight and frost, shelf life is one (1) year.

Application Information

Dispensing

Sikament®-156 WRRe may be added to the mix with the batching water. We recommend that the concrete should be thoroughly mixed for 60 seconds per cubic metre of concrete. 

Add slump water progressively after at least 2/3 wet mixing time to achieve the desired consistency.

Compatibility

Sikament®-156 WRRe can be use in conjunction with most of the Sika Concrete admixtures, except Sikament® NN.

Laboratory and field trials are always recommended prior to the use.
Consumption

Recommended dosage

Typical dosage for general concrete production is between 250-500 ml per 100 kg of total cementitious material.  Optimum dosage depends on site conditions, mix constituents and desired plastic and hardened properties.  Laboratory and field trials are essential in determining the optimum dosage.
