SikaTard®-990 IP

Hydration Controlling Admixture

SikaTard®-990 IP is an admixture developed for the control of cement hydration. SikaTard-990 IP facilitates stabilisation of concrete mixes for long periods without negatively influencing their quality.

  • SikaTard®-990 IP blocks cement hydration.
  • Does not contain chlorides or materials promoting steel corrosion.
  • Can be accelerated with Sigunit® accelerators at any time without loss of quality.

Usage

SikaTard®-990 IP is mainly used in:
  • Wet and dry spray shotcrete applications.
  • Where the prevention of cement hydration of concrete is required.
  • Where mixed concrete requires stabilisation.

Liquid solution of polycarbonic acid salts

Shelf life

Stored at temperatures between 5°C and 35°C in unopened  original containers protected from direct sunlight and frost, shelf life is one (1) year.

Dispensing

SikaTard-990 IP is added to the mix at the batching plant together with the gauging water.

Compatibility

SikaTard®-990 IP may be combined with many other Sika® Concrete products.

SikaTard-990 IP is generally suitable for all types of Portland Cement.

Consumption

Recommended dosage

Depending on the required retardation time, 250-2000 mls/100 kg of cement.
