SikaPlast®-300 Eco

Mid-Range Water Reducer-MWR

SikaPlast®-300 Eco has been formulated to provide both water reduction and excellent slump-keeping properties. SikaPlast®-300 Eco improves the finishability and pumpability of concrete made using manufactured sand.

SikaPlast®-300 Eco provides the following advantages:
  • Water reduction, leading to improved strength and durability of the hardened concrete.
  • Significant improvement in the slump-keeping ability of fresh concrete. This reduces the risk of rejected loads due to premature slump loss and maintains concrete workability for extended pumping or placing requirements.
  • Improvement in the finishability and pumpability of concrete made using manufactured sand.
  • Facilitates an increase in the percentage of manufactured or poor-quality natural sand in the concrete.
  • Improved dispersion of the cementitious materials, improving strength, durability and mixing efficiency with the added advantage of reducing the consumption rate of a valuable natural resource.

Usage

SikaPlast®-300 Eco is used for:
  • Production of pre-mixed concrete to facilitate improved strengths, durability or economy.
  • Long-distance concrete delivery.
  • Production of concrete for use in extended pumping or placing operations.
  • Production of concrete made with manufactured or poorly-shaped natural sands.
  • Improved efficiency of cementitious materials.

Composition

SikaPlast®-300 Eco is an aqueous solution of modified polycarboxylates.

Shelf life

When suitably stored, as specified below, shelf life is at least one (1) year. Depending on storage conditions the shelf life may be higher than stated. Check with your local Sika representative before using a product that has exceeded the shelf life.

Storage conditions

Store at temperatures between 5ºC and 35ºC in original container, protected from direct sunlight and frost.

Total Chloride Ion Content

SikaPlast®-300 Eco contains no added chlorides.

Concrete Mix Design

When using SikaPlast®-300 Eco concrete trials are necessary to determine the correct dose rate and mix proportions necessary to achieve the desired/specified fresh and hardened concrete properties.

Application Information

Compatibility

SikaPlast®-300 Eco is compatible with most Sika concrete admixtures, before use check with your local Sika representative for compatibility advice. Do not use SikaPlast®-300 Eco with naphthalene-based concrete admixtures, eratic slump changes may result.

Dispensing

SikaPlast®-300 Eco should be added with the initial batch water. Never add to dry mix. Dispense different admixtures separately. For best results we recommend thorough mixing of the wet concrete for at least 60 seconds per cubic metre.
Consumption

Recommended Dosage

Typical dosage for general concrete production is between 300 to 800 ml per 100 kg of total binder content. Optimum dosage depends on site conditions, mix ingredients, and desired plastic and hardened concrete properties.
