Sacrificial Galvanic Anodes

Sika® FerroGard®-520 Patch

Sika® FerroGard®-520 Patch is a zinc based discrete sacrificial anode placed inside a concrete repaired area in reinforced concrete structures which are corroding as a result of chloride ingress or carbonation.

Sika® FerroGard®-520 Patch anodes are placed along the perimeter of the repair area and fixed to the reinforcement prior to the application of a concrete repair system. The reinforcement outside the repaired area is at greatest corrosion risk owing to the passive condition of the reinforcement within the repaired area. Sika® FerroGard®-520 Patch anodes corrode preferentially to the surrounding reinforcement offering protection against incipient corrosion damage.

In addition, standard repair mortars, bonding primers and reinforcement corrosion protection coatings can be used as Sika® FerroGard®-520 Patch is placed in the parent concrete and not within the repair mortar.

Sika® FerroGard®-410 Patch CC is a zinc based discrete sacrificial anode placed in reinforced concrete structures which are corroding as a result of chloride ingress and / or carbonation.
Sika® FerroGard®-410 Patch CC discrete anodes are placed into sound carbonated or chloride contaminated concrete outside of any concrete repaired areas.
Once installed, the Sika® FerroGard®-410 Patch CC anodes will corrode preferentially to the surrounding reinforcement, offering protection against corrosion damage.

Sika® FerroGard®-720 Reba

Sika® FerroGard®-720 Reba is a zinc based discrete sacrificial anode applied to reinforcing steel in new concrete structures exposed to attack by chloride salts.
Reinforced concrete is a porous material and as a result, exposure to chloride salts can lead to extensive chloride diffusion in to the concrete cover and subsequent attack on the encased reinforcing steel. This effect is accelerated at higher temperatures.
To counter potential chloride attack, sacrificial anodes can be placed in susceptible areas.
Sika® FerroGard®-720 Reba anodes corrode preferentially to the surrounding steel, protecting it from further corrosion damage.

Sika® FerroGard®-710 Reba

Sika® FerroGard®-710 Reba is a zinc based discrete sacrificial anode applied to patch repairs on reinforced concrete structures which are corroding as a result of chloride ingress or concrete carbonation.
Many structures suffer corrosion damage due to the incipient anode effect following concrete patch repairs. Although the fresh mortar in patch repairs halts corrosion of the steel within, it does not deal with chloride contaminated concrete outside the patch repair which is the cause of the corrosion. This leads to further corrosion damage at the periphery of the repair.
Sika® FerroGard®-710 Reba anodes redress the electrochemical imbalance induced through removal of the corrosion process from steel in the patch. Sika® FerroGard®-710 Reba anodes corrode preferentially to the surrounding steel, protecting it from further corrosion damage.
