The landmark $350 million urban development, located in the Inner West suburb of Footscray will incorporate an array of residential and commercial development, shared community spaces, cafes and facilities while showcasing a unique archi-tectural design and sustainable living in a modern inner city environment.

Within this development was a multi-storey residential build-ing that required a waterproofing and flooring solution for it’s upper level carpark.

The multi-storey building required a flooring solution for two different levels.
While one required crack bridging to protect the tenancies below, both required to be trafficable, hard-wearing, non-slip and suitable for a carpark while being aesthetically pleasing and UV resistant.

Sika solution

Brought in by the main contractor Grocon and by liasing with Able Industrial Floors, who Sika had worked closely with on previous projects such as AAMI Stadium and the MCG, Sika was able to apply it’s specially designed car park deck water-proofing system.

This system offered a complete waterproofing and flooring solution for multiple levels by using a combination of Sikalas-tic 488 & 489, a 3mm high performance polyurethane traf-ficable membrane system and Sika’s flooring system made up of Sikafloor 160 & 264T.
