SikaCeram®-262 Tile Adhesive

Unopened bags can be stored for up to 12 months from date of manufacture.

Store in a dry cool condition off ground out of direct sunlight.

High temperature and humidity may reduce shelf life.

SikaCeram®-262 Tile Adhesive requires 5 - 6 Litres of gauging liquid per bag.

When using Davelastic additive always mix the water and additive first then add the SikaCeram®-262 Tile Adhesive powder.

Return to service times shall depend on environment conditions, test results are conducted in laboratory conditions at 23°C & 50% relative humidity.

• Protective personal equipment
• Slow speed mixing drill with mixing paddle attachment.
• Gauging trowel

• Measure the required amount of clean, cool potable water into a clean mixing bucket.
• Slowly add the SikaCeram®-262 Tile Adhesive powder to the water while mixing with a slow speed drill with mixing paddle. Do not mix by hand.
• Stir the mixture for a minimum 3 minutes until it reaches a smooth lump free consistency. 
• Allow the mixture to stand for 5 minutes then restir for an additional minute.
• SikaCeram®-262 Tile Adhesive may need additional stirring during the pot life, do not add any additional water.

Notched Trowel Size Guide

*Requires the tile or stone to be back-buttered with adhesive.

1. Place a quantity of adhesive onto the prepares substrate. Do not apply more adhesive than can be covered within the open time of the product, usually from a single tile to 1m2.
2. Hold the notched trowel at an angle of 60° or greater to the substrate.
3. Spread the adhesive over the area where the tile is to be applied forming straight rows of adhesive.
4. Where back buttering is required use the flat size of the notched trowel to apply a thin 1-2mm layer of adhesive to the back of the tile.
5. Lay the tile into the desired position and move the tile across the adhesive lines to fully bead the tile into the adhesive to ensure no voids are in the adhesive layer. Occasionally lift a tile to ensure sufficient coverage (90-100%) then replace thew tile.
6. After laying the tiles at a section at a time remove any residual adhesive from the face of the tile and from the grout joints while the adhesive is still wet.

• Do not allow the adhesive to skin prior to laying the tile. If skinning occurs remove and replace with fresh adhesive.

The adhesive can be cleaned off tools and equipment while it's still wet. Adhesive that has dried will need mechanical removal.
