    Sika CarboDur is a heavy-duty strengthening system for reinforced concrete and timber. It consists of two components: Sikadur-30 adhesive for bonding reinforcement and Sika CarboDur-laminates.

     

    Use

    The Sika CarboDur system can be used to strengthen reinforced concrete and timber structures due to:

  • Sika® Wrap 230C

    SikaWrap®-230 C is a unidirectional woven carbon fibre fabric with mid-range strengths, designed for installation using the dry application process.

     

    Use

    SikaWrap 230C can be used for structural strengthening of reinforced concrete, masonry, brickwork and timber elements or structures, to increase flexural and shear loading capacity for:

    • Improved seismic performance of masonry walls
    • Replacing missing steel reinforcement
    • Increasing the strength and ductility of columns 
    • Increasing the loading capacity of structural elements
    • Enabling changes in use / alterations and refurbishment
    • Correcting structural design and / or construction defects
    • Increasing resistance to seismic movement
    • Improving service life and durability
    • Structural upgrading to comply with current standards

    Characteristics and Advantages

    • Manufactured with weft fibres to keep the fabric stable (heat-set)

  • Sika® Carboshear® L

    Sika CarboShear L is a high performance CFRP shear strengthening system for reinforced concrete structures. It consists of two components: Sika Carboshear L shaped CFRP plates and Sikadur-30 adhesive. Sika CarboShear complements the Sika CarboDur composite strengthening system used for structural strengthening.

     

    Use

    The Sika CarboShear system can be used for external strengthening for shear forces due to:

    • Higher live loads in buildings and on bridges.
    • Changes of use in existing structures.
    • Corrosion of the inner shear reinforcement.
    • Impact damage.
    • Fire damage.
    • Serviceability requirements.
    • Design or construction defects.
