Sika acquires Construction Technologies Australia
Sika has signed a contract to acquire Construction Technologies Australia (CTA), a leading Australian-owned manufacturer of tile adhesives and associated products. The acquisition will expand Sika’s local manufacturing footprint and product range to become a leading supplier of surface preparation, adhesive and waterproofing products for tiling applications in Australia.
“CTA’s product range will increase Sika’s presence in new and existing distribution channels and allows the business to leverage cross-selling opportunities. The range includes tile adhesives, grouts, waterproofing membranes, floor levellers and associated products, acoustic s and sealants,” said Miljan Gutovic, General Manager of Sika Australia.
“The acquisition will extend Sika’s manufacturing operations in Sydney and Brisbane, and provides an opportunity to streamline and optimise the production of powder and mortars to deliver cost savings and efficiency gains,” added Mr Gutovic.
The acquisition is a further step in the expansion of Sika’s mortar business, which grew by 31 per cent in 2014.
CTA has experienced dynamic growth in the last few years, establishing itself as a key supplier to pro dealers.
Full ownership of CTA will transfer to Sika on 1 April 2015. Key members of the CTA team will stay on with Sika to drive the continued success of the business.
